TRANSCO CLSG has launched National Committee activities in Liberia for the implementation of the ESMP and RAP. Members of the Committee were also installed during the ceremony on Monday, December 7, 2015.
The General Manager of TRANSCO CLSG, Mohammed M. Sherif traveled to Liberia as head of TRANSCO CLSG official mission from October 10 – 18, 2015 to finalize key outstanding agreements which were critical to the effective implementation of the CLSG project. The signing of the AFDB and KFW on-lending agreements, the Establishment Agreement, search for TRANSCO CLSG country office in Monrovia and the temporary offices in Yekepa, Nimba County and Buchanan, Grand Bassa County respectively were the mission's top agenda.
Mr. Mohammed Sherif and team made frantic efforts to ensure that these critical documents were signed during the mission. The General Manager also used the opportunity to officially introduce the newly hired Social Safeguard and Environmental Assistants to key stakeholders including the Government of Liberia, the World Bank and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The show of support for the regional power transmission project from the sector ministries and agencies in Liberia was overwhelming as TRANSCO CLSG mission achieved those key milestones for project implementation.
